Here are some of our own time-tested tips for getting the most out of your holiday.

•    Don’t get sunburn, wear sun-cream– beware the Asian sun
•    Bring as little as possible, you can get everything here
•    Take your time
•    Before renting a scooter do a full visual check on the bike and note any problems beforehand
•    Scooters are the best way to get around, but take it slow, the roads are unpredictable
•    Wear some sort of footwear when not on the beach
•    Drink plenty of water – the sun does take it out of you
•    Take it easy
•    Apply mosquito repellent when the sun goes down
•    Smile and be nice to the locals
•    Show respect to the Thai Royal Family
•    Don’t buy a time-share holiday
•    Take a Thai massage as often as possible; soon you’ll be back home…
•    If the service is good – TIP what you can. Whatever the guidebooks say about tipping it is appreciated
